Estómago de Tubo

Tube gastric surgery is also known as Sleeve Gastrectomy. In this operation, a large part of the stomach, approximately 80%, is cut off and the stomach volume is reduced. With the reduction of the stomach, the person will lose weight as food intake will be restricted. The stomach, which normally has a pouch-shaped appearance, will take the form of a thin long tube after this surgery. The stomach, which is cut off, is irreversibly removed from the body. In this cut part of the stomach, there is the part of the brain that is produced the hunger hormone ghrelin, which stimulates the hypothalamus region. In this way, there will be no decrease in the feeling of hunger of the person. Gastric valves called pilors, which regulate the emptying of the stomach, are protected in gastric surgeries. When these valves are protected, there will be no changes in the digestive system of the stomach. There will be a feeling of satiety more quickly by eating only less. People who have gastric sleeve surgery can normally eat less and get a full feeling of satiety thanks to their shrinking stomachs. The purpose of tube gastric surgery is to make the person lose weight by eating less and consuming healthier foods.

It is generally recommended to be hospitalized 24 hours before your surgery ,patients should go on a liquid diet the day before and not eat solid food. From 12 a.m., eating should be stopped completely. Oral water intake should be stopped 8 hours before your surgery time.

Advantages of gastric surgery include narrowing of the gastric passageway, saturation with a small amount of food, decreased appetite and a balanced diet. Tube gastric surgery is an easier, shorter operation than gastric bypass surgery and the hospital stay is shorter. When tube gastric surgery is required, it can be translated into some other obesity surgeries.

Not everyone who complains about their excess weight can undergo gastric sleeve surgery. In order to enter this surgery, the patient must be between the ages of 18 and 65 and have a body mass index of 35-40. If the person has cardiovascular diseases due to excess weight type 2 diabetes and serious health problems, if he or she does not have alcohol and drug addiction, if his psychological condition does not prevent the change of lifestyle and is at a level that can be overcome by the stress of surgery, if the health condition is appropriate, if the person cannot lose weight outside the surgical method to lose weight, the tube is suitable for gastric surgery.

If you eat healthy after gastric surgery and do your regular exercises, you can achieve 65-80% weight loss within 1 year after surgery. However, if you cannot establish good eating habits, you may experience weight gain by approximately 5%.

You can stand up about 1-2 hours after coming to bed from the operating room. Then, from the first day, you can take a shower by covering your dressings with your protective bathroom covers. After resting for a week after the surgery, you can start your work. If you have a job that requires physical activity, it is advisable to start after 30 days.
